We still have to wait. Madara's rods on Hashirama didn't disappear after Madara came back to life and lost his rinnegen. Also, when an edo says they arent at full power, it means that they dont have access to the same reserves as when they were alive.
This makes sense, since its been explicitly stated that edos are weaker than their living selves, however we see that this simply cannot always be the case as edos can be summoned at near full power, so clearly that can be taken up a notch to full power. Also, notice how in part 1 when orochimaru summoned edo hashirama and tobirama they were far from full power, but in part 2, orochimaru summoned hashi and tobirama, minato and hiruzen all near full power.
How can this be? Well, orochimaru, for one, didnt have access to his full reserves when he summoned them in part 1 because he was: 1 just fighting hiruzen, which lowered his reserves alot and 2 Hadnt perfected Edo tensei, which heavily implies that even if he had his full reserves, the technique itself wouldnt have allowed him to summon the edos near full power or much greater than what he did.
In part 2, oro had his full reserves when he summoned the edos, and he had also perfected edo tensei, which makes sense, since he now was able to summon hashirama and tobirama, PLUS minato and Hiruzen at near full power.
When kabuto summoned all his edos, all of them were stated to be far from their full power, this makes sense since even if he did have the reserves to summon them since it takes very little chakra to summon an edo, he still didnt have the reserves to summon them at near full power or full power.
This is because while it takes little chakra to summon an individual, the amount of edos kabuto had summoned was huge, which all added up. I believe what is meant when its said that edos have "limitless chakra" , is that there chakra regenerates over time, however slowly. This is evident by many things, and is believed to be true by many people.
However, the subject to be terminated does not need to consent for the spell to work, a fact Orochimaru would frequently exploit. The Edo Tensei's life cost may be a drawback to using it, though it is well compensated through the fact that it can bring back literally anyone. Consequently, Kabuto was able to restore Madara to the land of the living, who in turn annihilated much of the Allied Shinobi Forces' armies by himself.
This makes potential usage of the jutsu well worth the sacrifice required, as finding the right person to resurrect will decimate many more threats than the initial inconvenience to restore them. It is possible for the subject of the Edo Tensei to resist the will of its user. This was most prominently demonstrated through Hanzo the Salamander, who forfeited his fight against Mifune despite the fact that he had not yet entirely lost the battle. Therefore, enough determination can render the jutsu completely moot, inconveniencing the user and making the trouble that they had went through in order to procure them for nothing.
Nonetheless, one's resilience must be exceptional in order to break the conditioning, as even Hashirama could not do so when it was cast against him. When fighting those under the sway of the Edo Tensei, many shinobi quickly realized that their opponents are immortal. Though it was possible to damage them, whatever harm was inflicted quickly became reversed as they healed themselves through a paper-like substance.
It made it incredibly frustrating to fight them, especially since the shinobi were as just as powerful as they were in life. Combined with the newfound durability they now possessed, they are twice as deadly as they were before. In addition to costing a mortal life for the Edo Tensei to work, there was another requirement; one must provide something belonging to the person they intended to resurrect—with flesh samples being the most useful.
It is consumed in the technique There's no way to attack the body inside either. Its' always there, but always substituted by the body of the summon. Yeah I understand it a lot better now, thanks guys. I was just being a derp I guess.
Anonymouse Banned. I suspect the ET is based on the casters level of chakra, and not the edos themselves. When the first and second came back to fight Hiruzen, they didn't have "unlimited" chakra. Otherwise, Orochimaru would've had edo-Hashirama just spam wood jutsu to completely fill the barrier area until Hiruzen was squished against it like a bug. I think the current generation of edo's having all that chakra is due in part to Kabuto's sage mode.
He can take in unlimited amounts of nature energy and feed it to the edo's somehow. The edo that seems to have the most obvious unlimited chakra is Madara. Let's not forget, he has Hashirama's cells in him fueling him. As for the current strange happening of being able to cancel the jutsu and remain around, I suspect it will be explained next chapter. ET is a summoning jutsu. All summons require a blood contract. That contract works both ways.
Naruto can summon frogs, and we know the frogs can summon Naruto, right? Well, Kabuto can break the contract by releasing ET. Why is it crazy that Madara can do the same thing, as long as he knows the seals?
Haloman Fair and Balanced. Trent Joker, Smoker, Midnight Toker. Something in Pink! PopoTime Devourer of Souls. Edo Tensei constantly restores the person back to the predetermined point The "point of resurrection" if you will , hence restoring any damage done during the course of the Jutsu.
This literally makes the only weakness an opponent can exploit is to seal the Edo away. As for Unlimited charka, here is what i believe. Chakra is composed of Physical Stamina and Spiritual Energy.
