The two most basic commonalities are that all three are monotheistic and also share a common spiritual ancestor. The prophets are the spokespersons for God. Furthermore, all three believe in a prophecy that has been written down.
The Abrahamic religions are also sometimes referred to as the religions of the book. Also important in all three religions is the concept of fasting and feasting. The fortunate few would receive eternal happiness, but the wicked majority would be cast into the eternal fires of hell. So too, with the God of Muhammad.
At the end of the world, God would act as a God of justice. God would then reward or punish each person in the gardens of paradise or the fires of hell according to their deeds. Each would be presented with a record of his deeds — in the right hand for those to be saved, in the left for those to be damned to the fires of hell.
For those who were saved, the delights of paradise awaited. Those who died in the cause of Allah, however, did not need to wait for the Last Judgment. They would go straight to heaven. The Quran provided often varied guidance to the believing community in matters of marriage and family law, women, inheritance, food and drink, worship and purity, warfare, punishments for adultery and false accusations of adultery, alcohol and theft.
Christians celebrate a long tradition of visiting the holy land and other shrines. Meanwhile, Jews travel to the site of the temple in Jerusalem as a pilgrimage destination. Individuals and communities follow ethical, practical, and religious laws. They also participate in worship. Leaders are those who are specially trained in the knowledge of the faith and care of the community and its members. They play roles in guiding the faithful. In Judaism, a Rabbi is a religious leader.
Rabbis receive rigorous training in the scriptures and other Judaic writings. In Christianity, priests and pastors serve as part of a church hierarchy, or ranks of authorities. Only trained, ordained, or initiated priests can fulfill certain sacred functions of worship for the lay, or ordinary, people.
Priests and pastors preside over Christian congregations in houses of worship called churches. In Islam, there is no priesthood, ordination, or religious hierarchy. Imams can lead prayers for groups of men and women in Muslim houses of worship called mosques. Leaders who offer advice on how to practice Islam, on the law, and other kinds of guidance are called alim sing.

But many public places, like airports, universities and hospitals now offer dedicated interreligious prayer rooms. These are rooms that were jointly created by people of a number of different faiths and where any believer can enjoy a moment of personal reflection. These spaces are neutral in design and tend to avoid displaying symbols of any kind. There is one exception though: the internationally recognized, and pretty uncontroversial, emergency exit signs which hang on the wall.
